PROergonomics Workshop: Job Coaching for Effective Education/Health & Safety for Young Workers - This event has already occurred

Category:
Public Event
Event Details:
Teaching is typically a one-way interaction, the teacher has valuable information that they communicate to another. Coaching on the other hand, is a two-way interaction; teaching another person something followed by observation and feedback (in a cycle that can, and should, repeat!) to promote a deeper learning and understanding.
Most people learn best when they are coached because they take in more of the desired message; they are active participants and learning through a feedback loop.
Learning to leverage coaching skills for more effective training and education in the workplace can help to reduce injury risk by ensure our younger workers are working smarter; making better choices, using tools and equipment available to them and protecting their bodies throughout movements to more effectively reduce injuries.
This workshop will explore the ideas of teaching and coaching using ergonomic examples to demonstrate the differences between the techniques and explore how you can incorporate coaching practices into the workplace.
