Wednesday, June 23, 2021 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce that the first cohort of women have been selected to participate in the inaugural Women in Governance: Leadership and Mentoring Program, a program developedas part of the Town’s commitment to improving equity, diversity and inclusion.
The Women in Governance: Leadership and Mentoring Program is a 12-week program designed for women and gender non-conforming individuals to learn more about what it’s like to work in the public sector. The program will allow each participant to be matched with a mentor who identifies as a woman or gender non-conforming and is an elected official.
“We are very much looking forward to hosting a program that will showcase the many different aspects of working on both the administrative and elected side of government,” said Jamie Kramer, Accessibility Coordinator for the Town of Cobourg. “This program will also host a fantastic speaker series with individuals who will provide their own unique perspectives to participants.”
Introducing the Speaker Series
The Women in Governance: Leadership and Mentoring Program will host five speakers as part of its Speaker Series. Throughout the months of June and July these speakers will provide their own unique perspectives and experiences working in government, as elected officials, or for non-governmental organizations that work together with politicians to create public policy.
